Disney and Best Buy Partner With Heartland Truly Moving Pictures For Nine-State, In-Store Promotion
Gaining further recognition that its signature award is steadily becoming a mark of quality for consumers, Heartland Truly Moving Pictures™ has finalized a marketing alliance with the Walt Disney Company and Best Buy™ for a regional promotion of Disney titles which have received the Heartland Truly Moving Picture Award. The promotion will offer a consumer discount on sixteen DVD titles, and will run in nine Midwestern states from October 14 until supplies last, concurrent with this year’s Heartland Film Festival. Heartland Film Festival Changes Name and Expands Mandate; Name of Parent Organization - Heartland Truly Moving Pictures

The name change, announced by President and CEO Jeffrey L. Sparks, highlights the organization’s industry award and watermark, the Heartland Truly Moving Picture Award, while at the same time re-defining its commitment to filmmakers, studios and distributors whose projects address challenging subjects yet provide meaningful storylines and resolution. The organization will also expand its Festival programming, year-round marketing efforts and events and its rapidly growing “Finding Inspiration in Literature and Movies” project (F.I.L.M.) in association with the National Collaboration for Youth. Truly Moving Pictures Nominated for Academy Awards
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization that awards the Oscars every year, announced early this morning the nominees for the 2006 Academy Awards. Heartland Truly Moving Pictures is proud to list several Truly Moving Pictures Award winners among the list of nominees. Golden Globe Awards Honor Truly Moving Pictures
On January 15, 2007, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honored the best of television and movies at their annual Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles. Celebrities to Attend Heartland Film Festival to Receive Truly Moving Picture Awards
Recently announced was the addition of several celebrities to the list of those attending the 2006 Heartland Film Festival. The year's Truly Moving Picture Award winners will be honored at the Crystal Heart Awards Gala on October 21, and several filmmakers and stars are on board to attend the black-tie event. Their presence, along with the attendance of Festival filmmakers and the $200,000 prize money that will be awarded that night ensure an unforgettable evening.

Actor Glenn Ford Dies at 90
Appearing in three films recognized on the Truly Moving Pictures List, Heartland Film Festival was saddened by the news of actor Glenn Ford's passing yesterday. Ford turned 90 in May, and Heartland President Jeffrey L. Sparks was in attendence at the birthday party hosted by entertainment news magazine Variety. Though the actor's health was failing at the time, the event marked a milestone in the life of a celebrated actor.

Based in Chicago, Adam Kempenaar and Sam van Hallgren host Filmspotting, a movie-review show for the MP3 generation. The self-professed movie junkies review new releases on a weekly basis, and their show, with over 120 episodes, has an audience of listeners from all over the world. Saving Shiloh Now on DVD
A 2006 Truly Moving Picture Award Winner, Saving Shiloh is now available on DVD.
The third in the Shiloh series, the film is based on the novel by acclaimed children's author Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. The three novels--Shiloh, Shiloh Season and Saving Shiloh--have won Naylor countless loyal fans.
